[#18] Singing Queen
Yes, maybe you can already tell from the cheesy background music that this weblog is dedicated to Karaoke, this amazing form of entertainment, way of killing time or even kind of sports. I wouldn't say that I like Karaoke a lot before, I went because my friends went, blahblah...but now I say that I love Karaoke! Coz nothing is better than going to a karaoke Box with a few friends if you want to kill some time, and in the meantime, so much fun in it. I don't have a great voice. I sing like everyone else who can sing Karaoke...but I still love it!
Karaoke was invented by a Japanese guy who played guitar as an accompanist at bars. The idea came up when he thought that why not pre-records those songs he played by guitar onto some tapes and lable them so when customers wanted to sing in the bar, he can just play the tapes...thus he wouldn't have to play the same tunes on guitar over and over again. What a lazy idea at first! Anyway, he tried it and people loved it...it became so popular. Then after he turned it into a business, it went crazy and Karaoke started evoluting into today's Karaoke House (or Box), and Karaoke became a household name in the world. Well as you can imagine, this guy has become so rich now and is still developing items for Karaoke in the world..
In Japan or China, there are tons of Karaoke Houses and each one has different price and style. You can drink or have food inside sometimes, and in some Karaoke when each song starts, all the lights will automatically fade out gradually, and the beautiful dark-light paintings on the wall will show up...that's to make you feel like a real star, even you suck
Some machines will score your performance so if you are good, the scores get higher. Some even give out applauses if you want them or tell you how much calory you have consumed during singing at the end of each song (that's why I called it a sport)! You can also record your own voice onto a MiniDisk and listen to it at home or on the street (haven't tried that one yet). Isn't that amazing? Think it's very hard for people NOT to like it, coz the whole idea of this business is so smart!
I have made plans with some friends to go to sing Karaoke about a month ago but we still haven't made it till now. I hope after they saw this weblog, they would make an IMMEDIATE appointment with me so we can head straight to the rooms with microphones and have some fun, ne!

Pop over here, we don't have awesome Karaoke clubs, but we do have this Mexican restraunt that has a karaoke guy come in and set up every Saturday, me and the crew usually pop by that way once a month or so for a good few laughs.
hmmm nice entry ^-^ and very interesting fact about Karaoke. I'm as crazy about Karaoke as you are. It's a nice feeling just to sing especially with your friends or someone you just truly care for. There's just some warm and cozy feelin about it.Yeh i mostly sing Karaoke at home,it's too expensive to do it at bars and so...Now my ultimate goal is to sing like Mariah.LOl i'm wonderin if she is still popular in Japan...-Hoan

Look at pimp daddy with his new toy? That is one cool ass digital camera/phone. Japan has everything and plus you guys get it 10 months before we do. So how have you been? I wish I could go Karaoke with you. How fun would that be? I'm saving my pennies for my trip to Japan. Hopefully I can get a really good deal! Later E! Talk to you soon!
Hurry up and update E!!! I know you're not dead! Oh and I still have your GAP stuff at home ... I like the way you leave me at the check-out holding your clothes and then tell me to take them home for you as you run out the door! I'm gonna be gone till Wednesday nite so if you want them you better get em from me tonite .... otherwise I'll start trying shit on!
